Google secara resmi mengumumkan versi mayor selanjutnya dari seri Android, versi 8.0 dengan codename Oreo.
Peningkatan utama ada pada keamanan, durasi baterai, dukungan Hi-Fi dan tampilan HDR.
Desain update yang lebih cepat dengan adanya desain framework Table. Reboot lebih cepat, dan juga pencegahan terhadap bootloop dengan teknologi Rescue Party
